In June 2025, Liann J. Kang received the Best Student Music Award at the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) held in Boston with her composition, L’amour pur (2024) for voice and electronics. “[Kang’s] exceptional musical composition and creative achievement have been recognized by the review committee as outstanding work that demonstrates remarkable artistic vision and technical skill in computer music.
